Episode 27 – Week 5 of the 8 Week Nudge Series

In this week I discuss my vision board that I use for my health. Below are those images, along with my explanation of their meaning to me.

The two images on the top represent what I would love my body to look like. I took them from a search for fit bodies in their 40s (I wanted to see what is practical and doable). I cropped off the faces because for some reason that was distracting to me, and distanced me from the image. I will caveat this and say that I am well aware of the kind of effort required to get a six pack, and I’m not interested in that. My focus in these images are the arms, shoulder, chest. These pictures inspire me.

The crossroad photo seems self explanatory. When I look at it, the pile on the left just seems gross. Even though it’s filled with foods that I LOVE! There is just something really pure, and healthy about the image of the greens on the right. This helps me to visualize food as a choice. And it helps me to put the bad food into a more gross category…which helps when it comes to making a choice. Doesn’t the food on the left just seem heavy, greasy, and without energy or life?! And doesn’t the image on the right feel energetic, and life-giving?! That does the trick for me!

The image of the water is my reminder to drink more water. This picture resonates as very clean and pure and makes me more motivated to incorporate more water in my day.
